Comments:
Dr Tarita Botsman is an experienced singing teacher, opera singer, director and artistic mentor with nearly thirty years in the performing arts. She holds a PhD in Music from The University of Queensland and trained in opera at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in music and singing at the Queensland Conservatorium, and in drama at Queensland University of Technology. She also undertook further professional study in Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Tarita made her professional operatic debut with Opera Queensland at the age of twenty-two and has performed more than twenty operatic roles for companies in Australia, the United Kingdom and Germany. Her extensive experience also encompasses musical theatre, theatre, concert performance, writing, producing and stage direction. Since 2009, she has been the founder and Artistic Director of ABC Classics recording artists The 7 Sopranos, mentoring and developing professional singers throughout Australia.

Tarita brings a practical, supportive and individually tailored approach to teaching, combining strong technical foundations with interpretation, stagecraft, confidence and career guidance. She particularly enjoys identifying and nurturing bright emerging vocal talent and helping singers develop their own distinctive, healthy and expressive voices.
